University of Alabama Men’s Golf Team: Practice Makes Perfect

The University of Alabama Men’s Golf team traveled to Kiva Dunes’ Golf Course to prepare for the Southeastern Conference Championship. The championship tournament did not take place at Kiva Dunes, however, the conditions are similar to that of Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons Island, GA, where the championship was held.

No. 2 Alabama took on other teams for a chance to prove they can win the title this year, and not repeat their runner up position from last year. Kiva Dunes is a Jerry Pate designed golf course along the coast in Gulf Shores Alabama. The practice at this course was a chance for them to play in the conditions similar to the golf course they played since it is also a beachfront course.

According to, the practice, among other training by the team, worked. “The Alabama men’s golf team overcame a three shot deficit to capture their second consecutive SEC Men’s Golf Championship, at the Sea Island Golf Club Seaside Course.” Kiva Dunes would like to say a big congratulations to the University of Alabama Men’s Golf team.

Tuscaloosa News reported that the guys just won the NCAA Golf Championship at the Capital City Club Crabapple Course in Milton, Ga. This is the first time in program history for the guys to win. Congrats guys!
